Irish Wedding Blessing

It’s a little late for St. Patty’s Day, but I love this blessing and had to post it.

An Irish Wedding Blessing

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon the fields.

May the light of friendship guide your paths together.
May the laughter of children grace the halls
of your home.
May the joy of living for one another trip a smile
from your lips,
A twinkle from your eye.

And when eternity beckons,
at the end of a life heaped high with love,
May the good Lord embrace you
with the arms that have nurtured you
the whole length of your joy-filled days.
May the gracious God hold you both
in the palm of His hands.

And, today, may the Spirit of Love
find a dwelling place in your hearts.

Amen.

Cinnamon Hearts Candy Cider

I found this on Martha Stewart today. What a great idea! It’s so easy and would make a really nice table treat and coordinate well with some cinnamon heart candy favors. I really like the 4oz tapered glass favor jars for colorful candies like this. The lid is perfect for both favor labels and [tag]gift tags[/tag]. Add some tags with the recipe and you’re all set.

Cinnamon Hearts Cider

1 quart apple cider
1/4 cup hard cinnamon candies
Stir in a medium saucepan over low heat.
Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly,
until heated through and candies have
melted completely, about 8 minutes.
Serve warm.

Double Truffle!

From marthastewart.com:

Give your guests a sweet send-off. Nestle homemade truffles decorated with sprinkles in little wooden boxes. Ours are lined with glassine — trimmed with scallop scissors — then wrapped in narrow ribbon and sealed with pumpkin stickers. Forming truffles is easiest with a 1-inch ice cream scoop; two teaspoons will also work.

Ingredients

Makes about 4 dozen

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons light corn syrup
  • 1 pound semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup orange and black sprinkles, for decorating
  • 1/2 cup orange and black sanding sugar, for decorating

Directions

  1. Bring cream, butter, and corn syrup to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat. Add chocolate, and gently swirl pan to cover chocolate with cream.
  2. Slowly whisk until smooth. Transfer to a large bowl. Cover, and refrigerate. Stir mixture every 15 minutes. After 45 minutes, mixture will thicken quickly, so stir every 3 to 5 minutes until set but still pliable, 10 to 20 minutes more (total chilling time is 55 to 65 minutes.)
  3. Refrigerate until firm but not hard, about 10 minutes. Remove from refrigerator, and roll balls in palms to smooth. Refrigerate, in an airtight container, layered between pieces of parchment or waxed paper, until ready to decorate.
  4. Remove balls from refrigerator. Place sprinkles and sanding sugar in separate small bowls. Dip balls into sprinkles or sanding sugar to coat, pressing sprinkles to adhere. Truffles can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 1 week

We have several options for packaging the truffles. We are working the wraparound label category, but if you see any label you like, you can always order it and just email us and let us know you would like it as a wraparound label. 18 wraparound labels in a set. All labels, tags and place cards are sold in sets for $11.99.

We’ve got a brand new bag.

Chico Reusable Shopping Bag

Chico Reusable Shopping Bag

Green is the new cool. Do you notice every where you go people are talking about being green and it has nothing to do with a cute and slightly clueless amphibian? It seems as if everyone is jumping on this bandwagon – but if there is a trend to be had, this is it. We’ve been talking about being eco-friendly with our favors for awhile and it’s become a major focal point in adding new products and packaging options, even when considering shipping our items. We’ve found some great hip new favor bags made from cogon grass in remote villages around the world as well as some cute little tote bags made from sustainable bamboo. I am really excited to be able to find so many options to offer, as an informed woman very interested in using other resources besides trees and plastic.

I am also pleased to report we are adding reusable fabric grocery and shopping bags to the mix to be sold as singles or in packs for favors or gifts or just because you want to get on board the eco-train. They are so lightweight and roll up into their own little pouch that makes them so great for our site. The bags can hold from 25 to 44lbs, depending on which one you like, but considering a gallon of milk weighs 7 pounds, these bags are pretty strong and durable yet still roll up small enough to stick in your purse or glove compartment!

Can’t Stop a Creative Friend from Meddling in the Process

A friend’s baby shower is actually the reason I decided to start this business in the first place. Since then, silver favor boxes with wraparound label every time a friend is having an event, I feel compelled to offer to help with the favors or any other creative print projects I can get my hands on. I really want to help them out but I also love every opportunity to flex my creative muscles.
I most recently worked on some favors for my friend Beth’s wedding in Vermont. She married a German man and wanted to use [tag]German chocolates[/tag] for the favors with tags on them somehow. We decided to use some petite silver boxes I had in stock and wraparound labels for a very simple yet classy look that complemented the table decor very well. The final decision on these favors were actually quite last-minute and my fellow usher and I spent an evening two days before the wedding putting these together. It gave me some perspective on how long it would actually take someone to put together the favors they might purchase from my site as well as the ease and simplicity of the components. While the task at hand was fun because we were chatting and thinking about our friend’s upcoming nuptials, I have to say the German chocolate helped us along quite a bit!

Gift Idea #1: Hot Chocolate Cone Favors

Hot chocolate cone bag favorsIt seems these unique plastic cello cone bags have spiked some interest lately. There are so many things you can do with them they are so great! My favorite is the hot cocoa cone, for which the recipe follows. Of course, you can package candy, Jordan almonds, or nuts very attractively in these bags but for the spirit of the season, I am picking the hot chocolate cones to showcase.

Hot Chocolate Cone Favors
3/4 cup cocoa mix
Two 6″ x 12″ cone-shaped cellophane bags
1 twist tie
1 rubberband
1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
3/4 cup mini marshmallows
1 large red gumdrop

Pour cocoa into one of the bags. Close bag with rubber band and trim it one inch above band. Place that bag inside of a second bag and flatten the top. Layer chocolate chips and marshmallows and top with the gumdrop. Secure with the twist tie or ribbon.
